Hereafter, you will find the transcript of a conversation between Milan Roman and Johnny (1). Last summer, the two authors met in a gravel pit, near a river. It was a perfect summer day, where the weather was beautiful, warm, without too much, and the trees, the flora near the river offered their green, yellow, ochre surfaces to the sunlight. No fishermen on the horizon, no noisy families. Peace on earth. Insects passed by them, without worrying about the mass of these giants (if you have never done it, compare the size of a dragonfly with your own). Rarer, a few butterflies were flying. The atmosphere is also a river, with even finer water, with these currents, these travelers. But a river flows, in the same direction, an atmospheric current goes there, then there.
Milan Roman: Say, in your opinion, should we go back to the water, or, like now, stay out of it? Johnny does not answer and questions his friend with his eyes. Milan Roman: I mean that, according to the current scientific knowledge, all the living things we belong to come from the oceans. There are all those life forms that have stayed there, and those that have come out. We breathe so much better, being bathed by the atmosphere. Whales, dolphins, and others have to come up to the surface of the water to get oxygen. We are in it. We are connected to all these life forms, and we are just beginning to know it. As for understanding it... I know, you say to yourself, but what is he saying, it is the Sun that hit him on the head. But we have exactly the same situation with women. Johnny frowns, attentive. Milan Roman: Yes, we all come from a mother who gave birth to us. 9 months of transport, free, fed, housed, the babies are really assisted! I say that because I hear that welfare is serious... Don't you hear that everywhere? Ragnagna, all these welfare recipients... One wonders: are they going to go after the babies soon? Ask them to pay for the time of the initial journey? Here you are, you've just been born, you owe us 15,000 euros. I mean, when you see that there is so often such a lack of respect towards so many women, you say to yourself, but these guys, they think they were born in the cabbage? That they came out of the thigh of Jupiter? Maybe we should film the moment of birth to prove to these guys that they appeared in this world, coming out of a woman's sex. Origin of the world ! Human origin, yes...
And then you have some who come and talk to you about the fact that sex, and especially a woman's sex, is dirty, disgusting. So, what gave you birth is disgusting? Well, we don't ask you to like it, you have the right not to be a fan of it, especially if you are gay, but at least, respect it... It's crazy anyway. Anyway, what I know is that it is this sex that links us to all these lives before us... And we are lucky: we have the taste of this sex, well, more than this sex, of these beings, the women. No wonder there are women who have exactly the same taste as us. You amaze me: between women, they are well accommodated. When I think about it, I think that this passion for Lesbians appeared during my adolescence. At a time when we didn't see them anywhere, I mean on TV, in the movies, let's not talk about it, except for some exceptions of course. Besides, France was more homophobic, lesbophobic, in my memory. When I was a kid, I never heard adults say of such a one, she is a lesbian, and yet, inevitably, there were some. How far we have come since then...! Their only appearances were in paperback books, sulphurous, not easy to find; in films for adults that had to be seen with video cassettes, fragile, which were damaged with time; in some very explicit magazines, I think of Penthouse, of the late Bob Guccione, photographer, at the head of this magazine, who made extremely daring photo series and some of which were sublime, by the light, the colors... If I try to understand this fascination, there is something certain: in the world where I lived, women were united, bound, to men, most of the time, subjected to. Wives, sisters... And here I discovered women who absolutely turned their backs on that. For me, Lesbians embodied freedom. I was told a lot about freedom, with many lies. Here, freedom was in action. We don't need your monkey penis, we have our own, if we want. And you, how did you come to ?
Johnny closes his eyes, gathers his distant or more recent memories, then answers:
I would say it started around 14-15 years old, at the whim of some movie or TV movie passages: the lesbian movie excerpt that confuses the heroine in "Charlotte dite Charlie" (I remember her brother-in-law falling on it and regretting the absence of a guy in between, 'sigh'), the short lesbian kiss in "The Year of the Medusas", or the equivocal passages of "Cours privé" with Elizabeth Bourgine and Emmanuelle Seigner. Nevertheless, I never looked for lesbian "porn" for various reasons: I was young and too serious, too focused on my studies, the Internet was not as developed at that time, and specialized studios were still in their infancy (in the US, in France, it's still a dreary plain). I of course devoured The L Word (my favorite was Jenny, a character hated by many). I also discovered lesbian hentai with "Shôjo Sect", then Cream Lemon's Escalation trilogy (with sado-masochism)... This fascination for lesbian hentai was also a kind of diversion to the problems I was facing as a trainee teacher, but at the same time, it bothered me to see that I was blossoming more in this than in a job that was disillusioning me more and more... Finally, I resigned from the National Education to do a thesis that never came to fruition... And, by chance or by force of destiny, I ended up discovering adult lesbian films... And what about your discovery of the lesbian universe, soft or for adults ?
Milan takes the time to think, before answering:
In my family, there was never any question of it: meals with parents, enlarged meals, with cousins, uncles, etc., no memory of such a subject. And with the already horrible French television, nothing significant. Of course, there were the repeated passages of "La cage aux folles", and I remember being intrigued by the fascination/repulsion of adults, especially men, for these men who obviously did not live like "everyone else". But then, Lesbians, I don't think I heard of them until my teens, like you. And yet.
While reading carefully "Les Fleurs du Mal", I came across these forbidden poems, which were however those by which Baudelaire wanted to title his collection. And then there were some films that projected lesbian "flashes". Comets. You see, you see more. Like "Cours Privé", you are right. Elisabeth Bourguine, you are right, how she is fascinating, calm, determined, softly passionate. A film that touched on something essential, in any case, since it has become so, concerning adult tutors in Education. And there, scandal, a teacher lets herself have desires for students, but not boys, girls, and Emmanuelle Seigner was the face of the being-ardent. If she had made a career in adult films, she would have become a star, because she has a face of such sensuality, with her eyes on fire, the expressions of her mouth. The film doesn't work on this subject, it touches it, and it's over, with this end where Elisabeth arrives in a new school. A very puritanical time. It makes me laugh when I hear about France at that time, all because, after "Emmanuelle", there was a vogue for erotic films and then X-rated films. But when you think about how people went, en masse, together, to see "Emmanuelle", it's fascinating. Today, people watch such films in private. There were hundreds of them. A few months ago, I had shared on the Facebook account, the program broadcast by Arte about the film, the project, its production, the actresses and actors, the problems, and the success, crazy. The producer made a fortune for life, in one film, while he himself doubted the film, the budget was tight. Well, that's the whole history of cinema. Let's move on. In the 60s and 70s, there were many erotic/X, lesbian films, but they could only be known by insiders, in particular networks. The cassettes were more widely distributed, but it was still necessary to buy them and see them. Not simple. The funny thing was that such tapes were on sale in bookstores. You took magazines, TV, sports, and a tape. And you had to be careful that there were no crowds in front and behind you. Otherwise... The productions were mainly American, like the press, you're right, in France, it was a long time No Woman's/lesbians land! Now you have Dorcel, Jacquie et Michel, but nothing specific like in the US, with Bree Mill's movies for Girlsway, Girlfriends Films, Slayed, and what is produced is still too formatted. On the side of "normal" cinema, there was almost nothing - I remember an amazing "Berlin Affair", a love film between a German and a Japanese woman. With the X-rated films, there were the Jeanine years with all her fetish lovers, like Julia Ann, Jenna Jameson, but what struck me was that they always seemed to be ashamed of what they were doing. You could tell they weren't slacking off. And it has to be said that the scenarios reduced to almost nothing, the dialogues also, they were not helped. I felt a real difference with the actresses of the 2000s. This new generation was more comfortable. Many have watched such films, and have integrated the fact that there was nothing shameful or dirty. Fortunately nobody listens to us, because otherwise, we would hear "you speak about lesbians from actresses who make films for adults, but lesbians, they are real women and not actresses who make physical, sexual performances". Except that we are talking about a time that the less than 20 years old did not know: no cell phones, no social networks, nothing of that, no Gay/Lesbian Pride, no lesbian films on TV channels, no public figures who make their coming out, nothing. Without these actresses, lesbian love would have had no incarnation, no echo. There are people who watch these films without being interested in Lesbians, there are those who watch them and make the difference between these films and real life, and are also interested in Lesbians, in their lives, in their movements, in their public statements, in their problems. But anyway, between these actresses and Lesbians, in "real life", love relationships are at the heart of what makes their lives, and this is not shameful. And what is "amusing" is that "hetero love", when there is love, is omnipresent, whether by suggestion, by partial or more complete representations, everywhere, all the time, with publicity, cinema, television films, literary accounts, that the hetero sexuality is thus omnipresent, and often not in a hidden way, but that if one is interested in the lesbian love, and thus also in their love relations, concrete, total, thus, physical, "sexual" as they say, there, one makes you remarks. Whereas it is enough to know both, the hetero love and the lesbian love, to notice that the Lesbians have more developed erotic capacities, more diverse, but also erotic desires much more extended, because they do not reduce their body and that of their lover, of their lovers, to the sex of these. They love bodies, from head to toe. And that, that deserves to be taken into consideration, to be treated with respect, because that changes of the phallocentrism, which, nevertheless, is the one that the rapists impose, implement. Where a male who has reached his coitus interruptus is interrupted, Lesbians can go back to the assault on Heaven! And they do not deprive themselves of it. Their lovemaking can last for hours and nights, especially if there are more than two of them. In other words: they have a lot to teach us. I advised myself a long time ago to make them my "coaches" in erotic relationships, and I continue to listen to their Siren advice. And besides, it seems that many people on this planet feel the same way, since lesbian movies are among the most watched on the platforms where these movies are shown. We are honest enough to say so. Others watch and say they don't.
Johnny is silent for a few minutes, letting his gaze slide over the shimmering waters, and replies:
As for Baudelaire, I actually read some of his poems oriented towards Sapphism when I was in preparatory class, during my research in the CDI. I also discovered Sade, with some extreme sapphic moments (including in the language which had nothing to envy to the "dirty talk" of the current porn, despite some words of the century like "foutre", "con" and "gamahucher"). As for lesbianism in adult films before 2010, I've seen very little of it, my first experience with the subject was by chance: on IRC, on a chan dedicated to yuri manga, someone had posted a link to a video, I clicked on it and watched it, it was a scene between Elexis Monroe and Celeste Star, from the 18th installment of Women Seeking Women by Girlfriends Films. It was on this tube that I got to know other scenes and actresses like Sinn Sage and Georgia Jones, to name a few. And one thing led to another and I discovered studios like SweetHeart Video, Viv Thomas, abby winters, Girlsways and more recently MixeD, to name a few. What you say about the prejudices and judgments of those who watch lesbian "porn" is interesting, because yes, it seems to me that for many, one cannot be fascinated by this universe without respecting lesbians and/or imagining a threesome (for my part, I read the definition of "lesbian" in the dictionary, so I have no excuse). One of the details that I also like about these videos is the absence of music in the intimate moments, just to allow the viewer to concentrate on the sighs and the rest, unlike the movies of the past. For my part, in my writings, I try to immerse the viewer in this universe, that he admires two women (sometimes even three) giving each other pleasure. On the subject of coitus interruptus in straight relationships, I am reminded of a testimony I read in "Union": "Melissa licks particularly well, but Florent does it quite a bit too. They both jerk off very well. The difference? With a boy, it's only a prelude to penetration. Florent, for example, licks or jerks me off until I am wet enough for him to penetrate me. When he thinks that's enough, he stops. Whereas Melissa licks and jerks me off for nothing, for hours, just for the pleasure of it. With Florent, the ejaculation is the signal for the end: the curtain falls and all the excitement vanishes. With Melissa, it's never over. There's not that fatal moment when everything stops." But you, what are the lesbian movies or scenes (from adult or non-adult movies) that have really marked you?
Again, Milan takes the time to answer.
Lesbian films that have marked me? Of course, there are some, but not many, because, with regard to the whole world production of films, from the birth of cinematography to today, there are few. For example, I know that there have been films for adults since the beginning of the 20th century, but they are not easy to find. There may be wonders that we don't know about. So it was not until there were lesbian films, the "mainstream" and the "adult" audiences. A few years ago, several sites entirely dedicated to lesbian love existed, such as an online encyclopedia of lesbian films "clublez com", a commercial site entirely dedicated to lesbian love, like LezLove, remember? The sites have disappeared, but they have been archived on the Internet Archive - fortunately. This online encyclopedia demonstrated that, with our times, there was an explosion of lesbian film creation and distribution, whether for everyone or for less than everyone. Of course, many of the films mentioned were not specifically lesbian, but had scenes. So, even if these scenes may have been successful, notably thanks to the actresses, I don't count them in lesbian films, because they are out of the frame (typical example, "Mulholland Drive"). A lesbian film is a film whose main characters are women, women who desire, love women, whether it is a discovery for them, or a well established feeling. And there, lesbian films, there are few of them, except the films for the public of the adults. There are always more, but few. For example, "Carole", with Cate Blanchett, is a successful film, but it remains too short, too distant with its subject. This is a problem with these films, as with many others. Producers, directors, still haven't understood that the best films are long films. And today, everything that is successful is, with some exceptions, works of long duration, whether they are films, in trilogy or more, like the Lord of the Rings, series, which, in essence, give time to time, etc. And the scenes of adult lesbian films do not contradict this, since a single scene lasts, between 20 and 60 minutes. In Japan, I have seen that these films can last 3 hours at least.
For example, "Ammonite" is a remarkable movie, with Kate Winslet. Her unexpected love affair with the sick young wife she takes in for a few weeks is beautiful, in a raw setting near a cold, strong sea. But no sooner has the story begun than it's almost over, and the story ends in "hot water." It's incredible. Didn't you feel that when you saw it? On the other hand, the film is worth it for the performance of the two actresses, Kate Winslet, who swings from iceberg to molten fire. The expression of her emotions is sublime. And I caught myself dreaming of a Titanic where she fell in love with a passenger, and not of ... And where they would have survived this terrible tragedy.
"The Predators", with Catherine Deneuve and Susan Sarandon, is, in its concept (immortality acquired by the death of others, with a sublime Bowie as a triumphant and deceived lover), brilliant, in its direction, lighting, relationships between characters, almost perfect, but the short duration spoils everything. Diane Kurys' "Coup de foudre" is endearing, courageous (in 1983 anyway), but it is limited to evocation (ah, this French puritanism, it is something).
"Bound", with Jennifer Tilly and Gina Gershon, was a turning point. Another short film, but the two heroines are the ones who play and win, rolling in the flour of absolutely typical guys, arrogant, violent, dangerous. What a pity that the Wachowski sisters have not yet made their first lesbian film for adults, they would be able to do wonders. "When night is falling" is a success, thanks to the actresses, the script, and the fact that the film tells the story of love between two women of different skin color, and this is still a subject, not taboo, but still, rare. "Loved and Jaguar", is very moving, also because it is inspired by a true story. "Loving Annabelle", is like a sequel to "Cours privé", but focused on the love relationship between this woman and this young woman. If the film is not a masterpiece (still too short!), it has at least the merit of courage, because it touches a taboo: not the love between a teacher and a student, but between a woman and a young woman. "Elena Undone" is worthwhile for the two actresses, magnificent and complicit. "Room in Rome", for this celebration of lesbian love, in the very Catholic Rome! "The secret diary of Anne Lister", plunges us into the past at a time when the good people who ruled the world did not even conceive that lesbian love could exist. And yet, during all these centuries, women have dared to love each other, without having social models to inspire them, to justify them. It is impossible not to quote "La vie d'Adèle". Kechich has still very brave, and the actresses too. But we see the change of era: the film does not make a huge scandal, no league of virtue to march in front of theaters. Afterwards, it is a simple film: a face to face between the two, friends, lovers, ex-lovers. Recently, I saw "La belle saison", and I was amazed by Cecile de France's acting. Unfortunately, I learned that Iza Higelin was uncomfortable with this film, because Catherine Corsini made them play love scenes. It's a pity, but it proves that we are still far from a significant human evolution, if an actress who didn't have to play a real lesbian love scene is still embarrassed by it. For history, there is "Vita & Virginia". On "Mademoiselle", I could talk too, but I prefer you to tell me about it. Before I finish, I'd like to ask you about films for adults. Since the production of digital films, accessible via sites, but also since the setting up of Onlyfans, etc., everything has changed so much, especially because there has been an explosion of productions, and also, unfortunately, companies that have disappeared, because they have not been able to face the piracy of films. I think for example of Kissmegirl, focused on lesbian kisses (to begin with). In fact, a successful movie, a scene, depends on many factors: the production itself, but also, obviously, the actresses, the setting, the dominant colors, the light, the sound. Recently, I saw a scene between Angela White and Autumn Falls. There are several signs that the actresses are into what they are doing, are happy to be together and to make love together. For example, Angela White ends up swimming. This is a sign that can also be observed in some actresses. Angela White is not content, for example, to lick with her tongue the sex of her partner-lover. At times, she gives the impression of wanting to swallow it. She really tries to arouse electric explosions in her lover. And Autumn Falls expresses them. This is obviously the difference between "mainstream" cinema and cinema for the grown-ups: in the former, almost everything is simulated; in the latter, there are bodily expressions that must be real, not simulated. You can guess: there are actresses who make these films for money. If they find a boyfriend, a husband, if they give birth to children, they disappear. And there are actresses who last in this "business" as they say, because they get off on getting off on it, and having it off! For a woman who wants to make love with other women, there is no better profession. I remember an actress, a mature woman, destined to have scenes with women her own age, but also younger women, expressing her joy just thinking about the moments she was going to experience. This is a subject that I talk about in the new edition of my book, "Lesbians, those Flowers of Good", I hope you will enjoy this edition. Passionate and exciting actresses, there have been many in the last 20 years: Sammie Rhodes, a head lesbian, Celeste Star, now a stay at home mom, but still present on Instagram, Celeste Star, so beautiful, so passionate about women. Charlotte Stokely : I remember perfectly the first time I saw her, in a lesbian movie when she said : I love to lick pussy, with a laugh, and she made a sign with her fingers and with her tongue, between them.
Difficult to choose in all these scenes, I remember a trio, with a woman, Latin, a black woman, in a bathroom; a scene with Tori Black, scenes with Malena Morgan, they made a lot together, we guess, in their look, how much they really appreciated each other. A scene with Shyla Jennings, where this one imposes extremely fast movements of pelvis to Celeste Star, who ends up having a quasi syncope.
There was Samantha Ryan, who was a legend, an artist of lesbian desire, but who disappeared, because she completely changed her life, India Summer, who had a career of almost 15 years. Malena Morgan, who admitted that her favorite thing to do was a lesbian orgy, and indeed, among all the legendary scenes, one of the most seen in the world, features four young women, including Malena Morgan, one is going to get married, and her three friends decide to give her a lesbian party before the wedding. But given the importance of the subject, the number of remarkable actresses, I propose that, after my book comes out, we talk about it in a published exchange entirely dedicated. There, we're among ourselves. If people listened to us, I'm sure that some would say: "what the hell, how they are obsessed with it". And it is true. But, one, these women are not evil, and we, we do not do them, do not want them, no evil, on the contrary. Which makes a huge difference with too many males, whose behaviors towards women are... And then what these people don't understand is that these are movies that tell us about a human LOVE. LOVE, damn it, LOVE. Where, at least, there is no stake, no risk, no reproductive. A human LOVE for HUMAN, human! Men who desire women find their desire "normal". Lesbians agree with this: they have exactly the "same" desire, but because of who they are, it diverges! But then, to come back to all these movies, what is missing too often are good stories, dialogues. In short: authors like us! In your books, you have already told many stories, between lesbians. But if you could remake certain films, or tell one that is absolutely new, not in the story, but in the way of staging the story, what would you want to do ? Because, for my part, I have a lot of ideas... And if you tell me about this Japanese lesbian cinema that you know so well...
Johnny smiles at this question that questions his will: what if?
Among the films you mentioned, I know them, some by name, and I have seen others, like "Carol", or "La vie d'Adèle"... On this subject, even if the virtue leagues didn't show up, there was still a kind of "bad buzz" about the explicit scenes, both about the "male gaze", I'll come back to that, but also because they were too explicit, probably the lack of habit... For my part, the big mistake of the main love scene is a detail; it's the absence of background music, which made me inevitably compare it to other adult films, and not necessarily in a flattering way. About "Mademoiselle", I remember that at the beginning of the love scene, during the close-up on the tongues which intertwine, I said to myself "Ouch!", because the explicit kisses where the tongues roll up is an inescapable of the Japanese lesbian films for adults, but it was nothing like that afterwards fortunately... In the same register, in Disobedience, with Rachel Weisz, I remember a moment of the intimate scene where each one pours her saliva in the mouth of the other, it is also recurrent in Japanese films for adults... To come back to the lesbian erotica, I remember indeed this scene with Malena Morgan and other actresses like Jessie Andrews, who is perhaps the equivalent in the USA of Clara Morgane, an actress of films for adults who perfectly led her boat after her pornographic career (about Clara, if her career hadn't been so short, I might have found her in lesbian films in the US or Europe, but I took some comfort in Anissa Kate, Tiffany Doll, Katsuni, even Natasha Nice, even though her career is largely American). As for the scenes in question, I've seen so many of them, notably between Elexis Monroe and Sinn Sage for SweetHeart Video (scene shot after the accident that was almost fatal to Sinn), Georgia Jones and Faye Reagan for Girlfriends Films, or Lily Labeau and Lily Carter for SweetHeart Video... But I must have seen hundreds of scenes since 2010...As for Japanese erotica, the specialized studios only date from the last decade (notably U&K and bibian), but often seduced me. Insistent kissing with tongues can be off-putting, but I really appreciate the effort made with the tongues. Often, the tongues go to places not very popular in the West, like armpits, ears, and feet (even if we can see some foot fetish with the MixeD studio), there is a lot of passion between the performers, even if they don't do exclusively lesbian, actresses like Chisato Shôda, Yui Hatano or Yumi Kazama (one of your favorites) do wonders. I could quote many films, in particular a film between Yui Hatano and Ruka Kanae (very accomplices in life), a bibian film with Sho Hoshino and Yuki Itano, which goes beyond the carnal to provide pure emotion. The taboo is also present, as with the teacher-student relationships, the lesbian BDSM, and the Ruby studio has even dedicated a dozen mother-daughter films (only for the needs of the scenario... but on that level, one can also see the film as a typical older/younger). Yes, we talk about it a lot, and it could be a talking point... Have you heard about the so-called male gaze? I think someone had wrongly accused you of wanting to be the "male" spokesperson for lesbians.
Milan laughs and makes an "oh la là", full of innuendo, before answering: "La vie d'Adèle": you realize that what you call "explicit scenes" are almost scenes from adult films. The kind of things that are not seen in the "mainstream" movie theaters, especially since the disappearance of erotic films from theaters. It's always curious and funny, this story of "male gaze", because nobody will say that for a hetero scene, or for a gay movie, talking about "female gaze". There, it is enough that the film is directed by a man for the representation of, to be treated as a fantasy of. However, what these scenes show, it is what the Lesbians live, make. Shouldn't it be shown? Some think so. We have the conjunction of the puritans, there are puritan lesbians, with those, of a certain feminism, who associate such representations with the general, pejorative notion of "pornography", as if what they live was, indeed, "dirty", and had to remain absolutely intimate. But they would never say that about a heterosexual representation (except for puritans, of course). Yet, given what they are, women, what they do is "self-evident". There is no secret in this. The secret is in the desire, in the love, and you would have to explain to me why actresses would not want to try to reveal this secret, whether they are actresses in films like "La vie d'Adèle", or the actresses we were talking about earlier. Once, a young woman gave me this speech on Twitter: as soon as she started following my account, she sent me an inflammatory message and blocked me. She doesn't realize that what she has insulted and despised is what has been looked down upon for centuries. Sappho was not bothered, apparently, because she lived in a culture that had not lost the innocence of reciprocal desire, of love, but in the centuries that followed, lesbians were forced to be invisible, because their love was judged as pornography. So, in order to represent Lesbians faithfully and uniquely, they would have to be shown as a couple, dressed from head to toe, having tea and stroking a cat sitting on their lap? There are so many people who don't think, and, alas, even Lesbians. Jessie Andrews? I saw that, and so much the better. Malena Morgan had a contract with a cannabis company. Many of them have short careers and move on. The "veterans," like Julia Ann, are rare. It's nice that they can have a life afterwards, whether they reference their careers in these films or not. They have done a lot and given a lot, they deserve that life gives them back. Clara Morgane in the United States? Yes, but she preferred to hoard on her success to become a recognized, integrated woman. You can't blame her, it's her choice. If she had made an American career, she would have had the assets to become a legend. It's so common for women to have short careers: because they have opportunities, and then, it must be said, because many of them are not absolute fans of having full body relationships with other women. They're not really ashamed of it, or disgusted by it, but embarrassed by it. And then there are the others. Natasha Nice, am I wrong, or is she one of them? What fire, in her lesbian desires! In addition, she has an atypical physique, well, now, less atypical, because for some years, the sought-after physique was that of the top models, as with these girls from Eastern countries, with perfect natural plastic, as with the actresses of Vivthomas - and there were some remarkable ones! Passionate ones too! But Natasha Nice is all roundness. But my favorite thing about her is those eyes! Yes, because the clowns who identify these actresses only with their breasts, buttocks, sex, lips, forget how decisive are the looks of a woman on another. There are actresses who have never managed to love what they do, to have joy on their face, and there are the others, like Natasha Nice. The lesbian love lives only if there is a desire which is born, a true desire. She knows how to express it. Sinn Sage almost died in an accident? What's the story? Georgia Jones and Faye Reagan, the great thing is that they started out together, and they lived together for a long time. It seemed to me that Faye's departure was a great wound for Georgia, who loved her friend/lover dearly. This is a dimension that is systematically hidden about these actresses: some of them explicitly chose to make such films (you should listen to Scarlett Sage's interview with Holly Randall, published on this blog, after this note), and they give them the opportunity to meet women with whom they live exceptional moments, and for some of them, these moments continue after the shootings. For a woman who loves to have sex with other women, these movies are still the ultimate opportunity. Obviously, if there is nothing perfect, because there are actresses between whom there is no affinity, or even with whom there can be tensions, problems, they make a singular work, centered on the most diverse and intense personal pleasure. When you think of all the people who work, they are not unhappy, if they do it voluntarily and with joy. If there are constraints, if there is violence, that should be denounced, but there are so many problems in the world of work that the accusations made about this environment must be compared with what happens elsewhere. I remember Angela White saying over and over again that she chose this profession as a teenager because she wanted to have physical relationships, especially with women, and I also remember the accusations made by some actresses about men in this field, and also, more rarely, about women. Angela White recently said that all the contacts in a script are listed so that each actress can decide what she approves and what she rejects. How many jobs offer such a framework for any work, on a daily basis? I don't know the details of your professional experiences, but from what I know, we are on high level requirements. Afterwards, people will say to me, you focus on the actresses, who are the stars of the profession, but the technicians are poorly paid, sometimes badly treated. I admit it, I don't know enough about this business to talk about it concretely, but there is one thing I don't understand, it's why these actors and technicians don't form together a big company, a kind of cooperative, rather than being all alone, only bound by a contract and afterwards, nothing more. The profits still don't seem to go into each other's pockets. But then again, capitalism in the United States, in Hollywood, in Porn Valley... Ah yes... "Lesbian spokesperson"? Never, impossible. I have always spoken as a non-lesbian, as a male. I have spoken about them, about what they are, and I can be told that I am wrong, but never in their place, in their name. It would be a folly, a fault. They have spokespersons, women, and that's fine. But obviously, some of them would have preferred that we did not exist, that we did not speak. I invite them to think about it. They don't have many allies. And we defend their very existence, their rights. But we do not exclude any of the women who are part of this field, the lesbian love, whether they live it or represent it. If this respect for these women leads other women to exclude us, no problem, they do what they want, but on the other hand, they will not prevent us from speaking and talking about it. Many claim "freedom", "liberties": so let our freedom to be interested in, to speak about, be respected. I ask for nothing more.
Johnny smiled again, and said to his friend:
how we have knowledge and feelings, common. We have found each other, well, lesbian found! The first time I had heard about the "male gaze", it was when "Mademoiselle" came out, and it had annoyed me, whereas it is precisely what the film denounced (I will return to it next week). Yes, no one, for example, would criticize women drawing yaoi mangas (gay mangas for women), but it must be said that yaoi is a growing market, so we're not going to hold them up for details... As for the mishap that happened to you on Twitter, it's silly, but too often, people block for this or that reason (I never do it, except if I'm insulted). Anyway... Yes, you're right to mention Natasha Nice's eyes, which are beautiful, even if I'm not indifferent to her curves and her natural breasts either. But generally, it's more the face that attracts me (I could say the same about a performer like Tilly McReese). For Sinn Sage, yes, she had a winter sports accident that affected her head, as well as her hip (she still has a scar). I want to go back to my favorite lesbian film, Park Chan-Wook's "Mademoiselle". Of course, I had seen a lot of different films on the subject like Fucking Amäl, Aimée and Jaguar or My Summer Of Love and of course La Vie d'Adèle, but none of them transported me as much as Park Chan-Wook's Mademoiselle. I had heard a lot of good things about it, I knew there were some lesbian elements, but I didn't know more, and I think the less you know about this movie, the better. Here's the review I wrote on a forum a few hours after the movie, which I came out of in awe: "Mademoiselle/The Handmaiden. I just finished this movie an hour ago... Devastating... I would have so much to say about this movie." Afterwards, I saw it again several times, especially during the confinement (movie version and Director's Cut version, some extra scenes and different editing), and it allowed me to appreciate more details, especially the fact that Hideko takes pleasure in reading a lesbian erotic story by imagining herself with Sookee, especially since at that moment, a power failure preserves her from the gaze of the men who come to listen to her, a story that she will reproduce by the way at the end of the movie with Sookee. I have to say that I came out of this film amazed, and since then, I don't want to see any lesbian film that ends "badly" (I could perhaps quote Portrait of a Young Girl on Fire", which I liked, but which didn't have the intensity of Park Chan-Wook's film).
The two friends fall silent, and the silence is heard again, with all the sounds of the living, of the flowing water, of the wind that begins to blow slightly. In the invisible of their souls, voices have resounded: women's voices, voices that have spoken of love, that have sought to unite in a telluric Love. Obviously, they do not confuse life and performance. What is most important is that there are Lesbians, alive, free, happy, that they live as they want, even in a puritanical way, if they like. But the Lesbians of the performances do not deserve the opprobrium, the contempt, the accusations, the insults, that they undergo. Without them, the rights of lesbians might not have progressed so fast in the last years in some countries. Without forgetting that if there was progress, there is still lesbophobia, and a lesbophobia which kills sometimes too. We are undoubtedly living the beginnings of a real feminist liberation and we must be happy about it. We do not wish that all the women become lesbians, otherwise the men would live a hell. It must be said that it would teach them their luck, that they must respect it. But if all women lived at least once in their life a day placed under the sign of the lesbian love, their sensibility and thus, the whole of their personality, their intelligence even, would be modified, positively modified, and the men themselves would have great benefits of it. And we do not confuse lesbianism with perfection: there are lesbian fascists, like a former leader of a Nazi party in Germany, and this is because there are always exceptions to a rule. The rule is that Lesbians are women of sensitivity, and the exception is that, among these women, there are violent women, dangerous, for other women, or more generally. This interview is published in February 2023. It will be regularly modified, with the addition of videos, photos, links. If you have any suggestions, please do not hesitate to make them known.

The journalist Laureen Ortiz is the author of work " Porn Valley ", published by Premier Parallele Publishing House. In Inrockuptibles, a french newspaper, she gave this interview. This note has as object to answer it, by enlarging the field of facts, problems. The article published by the Encyclopaedia Wikipedia is an extremely partial synthesis on subject It is because, even if an article of such encyclopaedia has no vocation to be a sum on subject (books exist), it is amazing to note that there is no development structured on the report between Inquisition and "pornography", while the Inquisitors are the first "Pornographers" of History, while it is by the language that they create, use, to report, vices, sins, "lethal", by the catalogues of "perversions", which they establish, and by procedures aiming at supporters of "lust". The etymology, of which this article reminds, is, certainly, in its definition, precise, but she skips and the judgement dimension, specific, in term, and does not stress enough the fact that this written form is only dividing in two, by "representation", sexual, real life, which, if this term and its involvements are accepted, is therefore, intrinsically pornographic, as source of. It is important to remind of it, to think well of this parallel, between life and, representations. It is because, if these representations can be «perverse », in sense of, mad, dangerous, or even "criminal", it is that it is in sexual very life that these perversions are problems. For example, if pedophiles are sick and dangerous, because they sing the praises of intercourse between fundamentally different persons, without there being a real consent on behalf of the children, without their being not able to give, since neither their body nor their conscience are formed enough for it, it is because this attraction for very young people is a problem, first, in life, and because the representation, by photographers, is only dividing in two, proving - almost, effectively, for those and those who stalk them, since these photos give to the investigating officers of numerous information, without counting that they constitute, in itself, a proof, an offence. But if they give up these perversions, minority (as with zoophiles, etc), it is in real sexual life that there are true acts of violence, mainly, against the women, everywhere across the world, and it without there being any report with the "explicit representation" of these relations. That it is in marriages in the socially satisfactory appearance, in rapes that, every day, occur by thousands, in the purchase of a service by "clients", richs or not, acts of violence intolerable, lived, suffered, by women, sometimes even up to their death, since some acts of violence are accompanied by their murder, are problem, and representation of the shone carnal report, am not in game, since number of these acts of violence existed or exists in human areas where said representation is unknown, or prohibited. Let us speak with the women, of Afghanistan, of Pakistan, of Turkey, but also, in the United States, and we can determine the largeness of these tragic facts, for that if few agressions or crimes are followed, stopped, condemned, heavily (even in France, rapists, spouses, are condemned in some small years of prison, and go out rather quickly, often, alas, to begin again). It is important to remind of this reality, so that said representation does not see itself allocated offences and crimes of real life, including in motivation. It is because, except the explicit representation of a sexual attack, indeed, sometimes performed by " the pornography ", the not pornographic cinema makes it also, in varying degrees, and because the huge majority called representation "pornography" implicates, at the same time, in its foundation (the choice by a woman-actress of make), as in what she is going to represent, and do/live in simulation (partial in such representation, since bodies are really linked up), a consent, or, unwillingly, or with pleasure (s) and joy. The whole part of the "pornography" is based, fundamentally, on reciprocal desire, and notably on desire of the women, which even became the main subject of said current representation (and, of course, by saying it, no neglect on the fact at that, indeed, a part, minority, but existent and extremely serious, aims in, on the contrary, to disclaim and this desire, and this consent). If, in real life, number of young males wants to play the candidates in (x) rape (s) and violence, sexual, against the women, and, sadly, partly, passes the speech to the act, number of these same young males, by said representation, discovers, and the body of the women, and the desire of the women, and the will of the women, and that there are not emotional and carnal relations without this free will practising, without appeal. What the adults in families are, except exception, in inability or in refusal to be capable of explaining in them children (and this virtuousness in families understands each other, if it does not overturn into the negation of bodies and of desires), said representation makes it for them, but without any border, between the film which shows a reciprocally wanted and happy relation, and its the opposite. In the maintenance which she gave, Ortiz notes that, indeed, the actresses are and conscience and reflected on this subject, as on others, "It is completely possible to speak about working of the worker. This conscience is well present at pornstars, who in a general way "thinks" of their job, read and intellectualize. And not only Stoya or Sasha Grey ! Many maintain a cerebral report in their practices. The stars of X do not reflect because they made long studies, but because they had an outstanding life, out of norms, who encourage them to question - sometimes in an existential way! - their own working, their desires and anxiety, their life progression..." For example, Tori Black declared"" Haters " and trolls aren' t the consequence of increased popularity, drank amplified voices of very old prejudices that consider sexuality degrading. Only by gradually changing that culture, says Black, performers can finally earn the respect they deserve. "We thing this industry because sex simple percentage something that moves us and we' re passionate end, just like has musician would go to music, "she says." What she determines, as others, it is that the women who make such films are at the same time, socially, in the secret of conscience, "Stars", considered to be living goddesses, but, of other one, socially, publicly, identified, at the same time to the "prostitutes" (who live the same instrumentalization by males and the same decrease in value, as woman/ sex), representatives and culprits of what the audience sees as vices and sins, as part of an ignorance and even hate culture against bodies and desires). She adds, finally, that many women who devote themselves to see in such representations make it as for pleasures as she withdraws from it, because their body is their musical instrument, which they play and are also "played ". In a complex way (and without complex, visible!) they also take a revenge on sexual acts of violence suffered in their childhood, youth, what is the case of Tori Black, raped, in very many resumptions, child by a male of its family. Their revenge agains it say : I’m not your, I’m to someone who are anyone, and Love is my answer. But it means some more other things, starting with a complete affirmation of one, the affirmation of a control of its feelings and its feelings, by an being-in-the-world opened to possibles, by an adjournment, in act, by the power of the males in social reality, since, in this domain, it is the women who are "stars" - even if they are not still those who run, manage (but from one-two generations, this evolution is very probable). Finally, you should not misread the place occupied by representation films with the lesbians is the most sought-after in the world. Some people will say that it is about the big fantasy of the males. The males, attackers, rapists, do not look at this type of films, since they watch the films which speak of to them fantasy (ies). The most sought-after films are therefore those where the males are not there, where the women are, only, between them, want/love (and, of course, it is necessary to tell the comment which will not miss, to know that there are lesbian films with acts of violence, which, exist, but are very rare, do not represent films seen). In his maintenance, Laureeen Ortiz says to this on this subject:" There are many lesbian women(as Georgia Jones, ...) in X. If they turn more easily towards " chorus girl one chorus girl" to begin, I imagine that it is because it is rather violent to turn his first hardcore stage with a guy. I think that in general, many actresses are disgusted of the men, do not maintain willy-nilly the healthiest report which is with them. That there are no "models" in this middle, in whom to refer and to trust. Where are the mentors in X? I recall Kelly Holland, who was not actress but holds this mentor's position. When I question her, the actress Angela White compares prostitution to the porno. She says that when they are "performeuses" "(as sportwomen), "they are not "completely eradicated as nobody". It is a very powerful expression! It is necessary to understand that when you are "Pornstar" there is just the possibility to be a star. You can draw a name, therefore an identity:" become somebody". Exist. But White also confesses that when hushed up bump in X, you are in the pay of the film directors, producers and firms for which you work. Men, generally." It is because, when they are not on the screen, they are often behind the screen, but how put at the same level, the technicians, the film director, and the producers? She adds: "But when you enquire a bit, you know that do not feel like crossing the road of some mafioso of the porno..." - neither those who produce ultra-violent, completely disrespectful films of all and of all, or those who watch these films with pleasure. But the mafioso and other criminals exist not only in this sector. Affair Weinstein showed to what extent Hollywood is mined by the power of vulgar and violent males - and how much of yes, indeed, young women of this middle have committed suicide these last months, or died because of a destructive consumption of drugs, medicaments, but how many young women, women, all other productive sectors, did the same there? If "Pornstar", as August Ames, commits suicide, there is a broad socialisation / media coverage, and it notably because of main reason (she was harassed by a fascist gay for who his logic which intended to impose consideration on her that, as actress of films for adults, she had the obligation to agree to turn with a gay actor, for a straight stage, if situation came), but how many young women and women, who also suffer acts of violence, male chauvinists, sexists, commit suicide, without that a line in the press is dedicated them?! The control of this production, of this "industry", by invisible mafia males, and by males, in general, can and must cease - and for it, those and those who meet in a labour union (a "guild ") have every reason to make it - following the example of so many other workers of other sectors. To reach it, they have to find new legal and financial solutions, and be helped - starting with those and those who look at them in their physical performance - that's how the actress India Summer comes, as performeuse sportswoman («Actress specializing in Athletic & Artistic Love Scenes » on Twitter account). It is because this type of films the complete films are, in fact: as in our lives, these relations hire ALL being, soul and body. It is therefore also feelings that are in game - a report to one and a report in the humanity. And it is for it that it is so important that it takes everything out from its subjection to profiteers without morality, from violent dangerous. Yes "the porno is a class struggle", then what also works it is the end of this struggle, with, the famous, "Revolution". It is not a chance (in french, "hasard") if the women are in the heart there.
If a word, an expression, are not the good translation of the French, initial text, thank you for informing about it the author who will make modification. For what say the named stars, it is about quotations given by the journalist, accompanied sometimes with its interpretation, with their purposes, with their situation. Author who expresses himself here advises about them of all, all, but fact to name them does not mean to approve them or to disapprove of them. For example, when the journalist names Angela White, and whom she tells she does not understand how this one can say to her mother, or when she say that, in this middle, that there are no "models" in whom to refer and to trust. For such subjects, only models/actresses can say it, answer about.
